PFS introduces online financial service
TELECOMWORLDWIRE-3 February 2006-PFS
introduces online financial service(C)1994-2006 M2 COMMUNICATIONS
LTD http://www.m2.com
A new service to match financial advisers to the financial
needs of consumers, has been introduced through the website
of the Personal Finance Society (PFS), a professional
organisation that examines financial advisers. PFS said the service matches consumers with advisers
with specialist qualifications
|
and has introduced the
service through the consumer section of its site at http://www.pfs.org.
Consumers are given access to PFS's membership database,
enabling them to search for advisers with particular qualifications
to suit their requirements - a Chartered Financial Planner
for example. The IFA Promotion (IFAP), an organisation promoting independent
financial advice, expressed concern that consumers seeking
independent advice might be misled. It claimed the website
lacks differentiation between tied and multi-tied advisers
and independent ones and warned that people may be referred
to an in-house advisor who is unable to advise on the
whole market. According to the PFS, consumers will be given a choice
of advisers, but said they might opt for qualifications
rather than independence. ((Comments on this story may be sent to tww.feedback@m2.com)) COPYRIGHT 2006 Ingram Investment Ltd.
